Call for Papers

We are pleased to announce that the Vingt-deuxièmes Journées de Linguistique de
l'Asie Orientale (22nd Paris meeting on East Asian Linguistics) will be held on
June 9-10, 2008 at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Centre de
recherches linguistiques sur l'Asie orientale (CRLAO) in Paris.

Abstracts are invited on any aspect of East Asian linguistics. Field reports on
lesser known languages are especially welcome. Papers set in a broader
perspective, but including some data from East Asian languages are also welcome.

Please send (preferably by e-mail) to the Organizing Committee no later than
April 15, 2008 a copy of your abstract at the following address:

Les Vingt-deuxièmes Journées de Linguistique d'Asie Orientale se tiendront du 9
au 10 juin 2008 à l'Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, 105 boulevard
Raspail, 75006 Paris.

Les participants à ces Journées présenteront des communications dans tous les
domaines de la recherche linguistique autour des langues d'Asie Orientale. Des
communications ayant une perspective plus large, non limitée aux langues d'Asie
orientale, peuvent être également acceptées. Vous êtes cordialement invité(e) à
y intervenir.

Si vous comptez présenter une communication, nous vous demandons de
bien vouloir nous envoyer, de préférence par e-mail, un résumé avant
le 15 avril 2008 à l'adresse suivante:

Meeting Description

The purpose of the colloquium is to enhance the dialogue between linguists
and philosophers and to provide a new forum for presenting research in the
interface between linguistic semantics and the various related areas of
philosophy (philosophy of language, epistemology, metaphysics, philosophy of
mathematics, and philosophy of mind). The colloquium is to take place every
year, alternating between Paris, St Andrews, Barcelona, and Oslo. The first
colloquium will take place in Paris, May 2-4, 2008 (Ecole Normale Superieure,
Salle des Actes, 45 rue d'Ulm, 75005 Paris). 

Call for Papers

We invite submissions to any of the interface areas of linguistics, semantics
and philosophy for 40 minute talks. Submissions should consist of anonymous
abstracts of no more than 2 pages (1000 words maximum). Abstracts should be sent
by email to:

Authors should include their name, title of the paper, affiliation and contact
information in the body of the email. Submitted abstracts will be evaluated by
the SPE Advisory Board.

Notification of acceptance will be sent by 15 March 2008
