Hello LINGUIST members,

I would like to introduce you to a totally free and powerful application
that allows you to access the non-English web using just your English keyboard.

A simple interface provides transliteration to virtually every script,
based on national and international standards where available. Scripts
include Cyrillic, Latin, Arabic, Indic, CJK, and several others, totalling
over 110 languages.  

Transliteration is real-time, as you type, but with a small twist to the
typical UI. 

There is also a section/tab that allows you to write larger amounts of text
for use where ever you need it. This section allows you to generate
multi-lingual text, using any combination of languages.

The site was built from the ground up, with no third-party libraries or
services.  This was primarily an experiment.

The site works best when you have good broadband access to the internet.  I
have another version in the works that pushes all transliteration to the
client-side and should be available soon.
 
There are no commercial plans for this service. Just a genuine interest in
languages.

General usage instructions:

1.  For Latin based languages, use the base English letter and the system
will provide the appropriate diacritic versions when available (or a choice
if multiple versions available.)

2.  Pinyin is used for Chinese. Use numbers 1 through 4 for tone (e.g. ni2
hao3).

3.  Most other languages are generally phonetic. (e.g. 'kitaab' for book in
Arabic).

Just need to add Thai and Urdu to make the list complete (could add a few
more).
