Linguistics Spring School in the Indian Mountains

Meeting Description: 

FOSSSIL, Formal Studies in the Syntax and Semantics of Indian Languages, is a
society that fosters academic exchanges among the network of universities in
India and abroad, has been successfully organizing Spring/ Summer Schools in the
Indian Mountains called LISSIM. 

LISSIM 1 held Kausani, Uttarakhand March/ April, 2007 had Nomi Ertescheck-Shir,
K. A. Jayaseelan, Ian Roberts and Anders Holmberg as the teachers. 

LISSIM 2 was held in September 2007 in Dharamkot, the abode of the Dalai Lama
where Andrew Nevins, Tim Stowell, Hilda Koopman, Dominique Sportice, Celine
Rodrigues  and Halldor Sigurdsson taught. 

LISSIM 3 will take place May 13-31, 2008 in Kausani, Uttarakhand. The emphasis
of this School will be the following two workshops:

Syntactic Typology 
Approaches to Morphology 

The faculty members of LISSIM 3 are:

Rajesh Bhatt (University of Massachusetts)
Andrew Nevins (Harvard University)
Gillian Ramchand (University of Trømso)
Theresa Biberauer (University of Cambridge)
Ian Roberts (University of Cambridge)

As there are limited seats, there is likely to be a competition for selection
and the society may decide to stop accepting / processing applications even
before the deadline. Applicants are therefore requested to apply at their
earliest. Since the number of student participants is limited to 20, prospective
participants are therefore requested to apply as soon as possible. 

Students from India are requested to apply for membership to FOSSSIL by writing
an email of intention to secretary at fosssil.in.
All prospective students for the spring school are requested to send an email to
the same address with the following information latest by 20th March 2008:
