Lecturer of Language and Education (Renewable Term Position)

Position: The TESOL and Applied Linguistics Programs at Teachers College,
Columbia (NYC campus) are seeking a lecturer with demonstrated teaching
experience and research interests in language assessment or program
evaluation. The initial term for the position is one-year, renewable for a
three year period with the possibility of reappointment for another two
years, pending funding and favorable annual reviews. 

Location: New York, New York

Responsibilities: Teach graduate courses in second language assessment,
language program evaluation, and one or more of the following areas:
quantitative research methods in TESOL/AL, SLA, pedagogical English
grammar, phonetics and phonology, psycholinguistics, classroom practices,
or language teaching practicum. The teaching load is five per academic year
with the possibility of teaching summer courses for extra pay. Advise M.A.
students and serve on dissertation committees. Participate in routine
program administrative activities. Maintain an active research interest and
professional profile in TESOL and Applied Linguistics. 

Qualifications: Earned doctorate in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, evidence of
scholarship potential in assessment, a record of successful ESL/EFL
teaching experience, demonstrated record of graduate level teaching,
evidence of service to the field of TESOL and/or Applied Linguistics,
ability to perform administrative duties, and ability to work collaboratively.
