Description:

The Cognitive Science Research Training Group 'Adaptivity in Hybrid Cognitive
Systems' of the Institute of Cognitive Science at the University of Osnabrück,
invites applications for 8 Research Grants for PhD Students.

The Research Training Group 'Adaptivity in Hybrid Cognitive Systems' is
associated with the Institute of Cognitive Science and research groups from the
Institutes of Informatics and Psychology. It includes research groups in
Artificial Intelligence, Computational Linguistics, Neurobiopsychology,
Neuroinformatics, Philosophy of Cognition, Knowledge Based Systems, and
Differential Psychology. The Institute of Cognitive Science at the University of
Osnabrück is one of the largest European centres in Cognitive Science, offering
degree programmes for BSc, MSc, and PhD in Cognitive Science and carries  out
research on a broad range of cognitive processes.

The Research Training Group 'Adaptivity in Hybrid Cognitive Systems' combines a
curricular PhD study programme with an interdisciplinary research programme in
Cognitive Science. The language of instruction is English.

We invite applications for the PhD scholarships from all Cognitive Science
areas. Scholarships are € 1000 per month for a maximum of three years, to start
at November 1st, 2008. For details about the individual dissertation projects as
well as prerequisites and application procedure, pls. refer to the application
web address listed below.  The application deadline is July 18th, 2008.
