This conference, to be held in the Department of Linguistics, RSPAS, ANU, will
launch the SHLP with contributions on a range of topics in the history of
linguistics in the Pacific region. 

The conference has 9 presentations on topics in the history of research on
Pacific linguistics, presented on Friday 1st August.

On Saturday 2nd August there will be a business meeting concerned with the
establishment of the society.
