CLIL Methodology in University Instruction:
Online and in the Classroom
13-14 February, 2009
University of Urbino, Italy

The two-day conference is being organized to discuss themes surrounding the
topic of CLIL methodology in online and face-to-face learning environments at
university level. The conference is hosted by the PRIN research unit of the
Faculty of Foreign Languages-in collaboration with the Information Science and
Technology Institute- at the University of Urbino, Italy, on 13-14 February, 2009.

Call for Papers

Conference Themes
The conference organizing committee welcomes proposals related to the following
themes: 
1. Questions of institutional implementation of CLIL instruction at university level
2. CLIL case studies in Italy and Europe (on-line / face-to-face lessons)
3. CLIL teacher training at university level
4. CLIL teaching or content teaching in a foreign language?

Working languages: English and Italian

Paper Submission
The committee invites proposals for individual papers on the above topics;
presentations (in Italian or English) will be allocated 20 minutes. For each
proposed paper, please send a short abstract of no more than 400 words by email
to flora.sisti at uniurb.it using the Word abstract template available on the
conference website: http://e-learning.sti.uniurb.it/clil/conference.php.

For full consideration, proposals must be received by Wednesday December 10th,
2008. All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by conference organizing committee
members. Notices of acceptance will be sent to individual paper presenters by
Tuesday December 30th, 2008.

Should your paper be accepted, you will be asked to provide the following in
English:
- A formal abstract of the paper for inclusion in the conference booklet and website
- An electronic copy of your full paper. Papers must not be longer than 15 pages

The deadline for submission of formal abstracts is January 18th, 2009
The deadline for submission of full papers is March 31st, 2009

Publication
The aim is to publish papers presented at the seminar to create a coherent
publication. This may be a book or a special edition of a journal in the field
of Applied Linguistics.
Papers submitted to the CLIL conference must be previously unpublished works, if
they are to be published. Publication in a conference book or edition would not
prevent publication elsewhere at a later date and copyright remains with the
author(s) of the individual papers.

We are pleased to inform you that next year the XXXV "Incontro di Grammatica
Generativa", the main and oldest Italian conference in Generative Grammar, will
be hosted by the University of Siena and it will be organized by CISCL
(http://www.ciscl.unisi.it ). 

The conference will be held on February 26-28, 2009.
The conference venue is: Palazzo San Niccolò, Padiglione Esterno, via Roma, 56
Siena.

Call for Papers

Submissions are invited for papers in any field related to the formal study of
language. 

Authors are asked to submit their abstracts as e-mail attachments in pdf or rtf
format to the following address: 
igg35 at unisi.it 

The abstract should include the title and three keywords/phrases that best
describe the content of the abstract. 
The title of the paper, name of the author(s), affiliation(s), surface mail
address and e-mail address should be included in the e-mail message. Abstracts
should not be longer than two pages in length (including examples and
references), in 12-point type, single line spacing and 2,5 cm. margins (
http://www.ciscl.unisi.it/igg/igg35-abstract-template.doc ). 

Abstracts can be submitted either as an oral presentation or a poster
presentation. Please indicate your preference for the poster or the oral
presentation in your e-mail. 
Talks will be 30 minutes + 10 minutes for discussion. 
There will be three poster sessions.

Admission is free. 
The official languages of the conference will be Italian and English. 

Deadline for submission: December 1st, 2008. 
The notification of acceptance will be no later than January 15th, 2009.
