Meeting Description:

The 19th International Symposium on Theoretical and Applied Linguistics takes
place in Thessaloniki and is organized by the Department of Theoretical and
Applied Linguistics, School of English, Aristotle University. 

Call for Papers 

The symposium welcomes papers on English and / or Greek in any area of
Theoretical and Applied Linguistics. Papers will be selected on the basis of
abstracts submitted. Abstracts should be submitted in Word and pdf format.
MSWord only is acceptable if abstract contains no special fonts. Only electronic
submissions will be considered. Abstracts should be anonymous and 300-500 words
long, not exceeding one page (A4) (including any bibliography).
Please, send your submission to: symposium19 at enl.auth.gr. 
Send all your information -- Name, Affiliation, and Title of paper -- in the
body of the message, and attach abstract with title, but without name and
affiliation. Presentations will be 20 minutes long, followed by a 10-minute
discussion. 

Special Thematic Sessions: 
The Symposium will also host a limited number of thematic sessions (workshops or
panels). These sessions will contain a small number of presentations on a single
theme. Prospective session organizers are invited to contact the organizing
committee as soon as possible with a brief outline of the theme and purpose of
the proposed special session (max. one page), but the whole package including
all abstracts should reach the Symposium committee by 15 December 2008 for final
acceptance. Official languages are English and Greek.

More information on registration, accommodation, invited speakers, etc. will
appear on the symposium website in due course. 

Notification of acceptance: January 31, 2009.
