The LINGUIST List strongly encourages employers to use
non-discriminatory standards in hiring policy. In particular we urge
that employers do not discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnicity,
nationality, age, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. However, we
have no means of enforcing these standards.

Job seekers should pay special attention to language in ads regarding
employment requirements and are encouraged to consult our international
employment page http://linguistlist.org/jobs/jobnet.html. This page has been set
up so that people can report on the employment standards of various countries.

Description:

The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Nanyang Technological
University, Singapore, invites qualified academics to apply for faculty
positions as either Assistant Professors or Associate Professors at the
School's Division of Linguistics and Multilingual Studies.

The newly formed Division of Linguistics and Multilingual Studies strongly

who work with different theoretical frameworks. Successful applicants can
look forward to a research-stimulating environment.

The suitable applicants should possess PhDs in Linguistics or related
fields and be able to contribute to the running of the Linguistics
programme by teaching core courses in the programme (see description of
core courses: http://www3.ntu.edu.sg/hss/lms/). The appointees will also be

current stage of the programme, the Division seeks applicants with
specializations in Syntax, Psycholinguistics and Computational Linguistics.
Applicants with other areas of specializations are also encouraged to apply.

In addition to teaching at the undergraduate level, successful applicants
will be expected to contribute to postgraduate-level teaching and

complement existing strengths in the Division and also add to those
strengths in new and substantive ways. For appointments at the Associate
Professorship level, applicants should possess very high standing in their
fields of specialization, as well as extensive experience in
administration, teaching and research.
