Linguistic Field(s): Writing Systems

Meeting Description:

The Workshop on 'Writing Systems: Analysis, Acquisition and Use' will be held at
Birkbeck, University of London, on 22nd November 2008.

This one-day workshop will bring together researchers working on writing systems
in a variety of fields, ranging from linguistics to neurolinguistics, from
sociolinguistics to psycholinguistics. The workshop will open with an
introduction session, where specialists will introduce writing systems research
in linguistics, neurolinguistics, psycholinguistics and sociolinguistics. The
body of the workshop will then consist of empirical research reports.
Participants will present their latest research on the analysis, acquisition and
use of a variety of writing systems. For more information about the event,
please see the meeting website.

A very limited number of places are still available for researchers interested
in attending, and for poster presentations. If you would like to attend or to
present a poster, please feel free to email the organiser.
