Description:

City University of Hong Kong is one of eight tertiary institutions funded
by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region through
the University Grants Committee of Hong Kong. A young and dynamic

Assistant Professor in Linguistics [Ref. C/900/09]

Duties: 
Teach and supervise students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels,
including BA, MA, MPhil and PhD.

Requirements: 
A PhD in Linguistics or related disciplines, with specialization in
cognitive processing of language, particularly in syntax, semantics and
discourse processing. Candidates with knowledge of using
electroencephalography, functional magnetic resonance imaging and with a
proven record of publications or strong research potential would be of
distinct advantage. Ability to teach courses in English and work well with
colleagues is essential. Experience in experimental techniques for studying
language in a broader context of mind/brain preferred.

Salary offered will be highly competitive and commensurate with the
candidate's qualifications and experience. Appointment will be on a
