Meeting Description:

Welcome to the inaugural Asian Conference on Education, to be held on October
24-25 2009, at the MyDome International Conference Center, Osaka Japan.

The aim of ACE is to encourage academics and scholars to meet and exchange ideas
and views in a forum encouraging respectful dialogue.

The conference will bring together a number of university scholars working
throughout Japan, Asia, and beyond to share ideas. ACE will afford the
opportunity for renewing old acquaintances, making new contacts, and networking
across higher education.

It is hoped that academics working in Japan and Asia will be encouraged to forge
working relationships with each other, as well as with colleagues from Europe
and the US, facilitating partnerships across borders. 

Call for Papers

Theme

The conference's theme is 'Local Problems, Global Solutions?' and the organizers
encourage submissions that approach this questions from a variety of
perspectives. However, the submission of other topics for consideration is
welcome and we also encourage sessions within and across a variety of
disciplines and fields related to Education, including the following:

Primary and Secondary Education
Further Education
Higher Education
Distance Learning
Adult Education
Student Affairs
Language Learning and Acquisition (ESL/TESL/TEFL)
Applied Linguistics
Curriculum Research and Development
Teacher Education and Professional Development
Educational Policy and Administration
Educational Vision and Leadership
Educational Management
The Economics of Education

Abstracts should be 250-500 words in length and will be reviewed by a voluntary
team of peer reviewers. Authors are limited to a maximum of two conference paper
abstract submissions, whether as lead or secondary author.
