Description:

Language Testing Project - Multiple Languages - Train in New York, work
remotely.

The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL,
www.actfl.org), an organization dedicated to the teaching and learning of
all languages in the United States since the 1960s, is currently recruiting
native speakers or near native speakers of the languages listed below to
train as Oral Proficiency Interviewers (to evaluate the level of fluency of
another individual in a particular language). This is contract work which
is perfect for freelancers, but can also be performed around a regular job
with a minimum weekly commitment. Training is ON-SITE in White Plains, NY,
but actual work is performed remotely with a land line and a connection to
Internet. Please read carefully the requirements listed below before
applying. More information about the ACTFL language proficiency testing

Interagency language roundtable (ILR) - a language proficiency testing
project: 

Arabic (all dialects of Yemeni Arabic ONLY), Bengali, Burmese,
Cambodian,Hausa, Indonesian, Javanese, Kazahk, Kikongo, Kurdish-Sorani,
Lao, Malayalam, Moro (Tausug), Nepalese, Pashto, Sindhi, Sinhalese, Somali,
Tagalog, Tajik, Turkmen, Uzbek. 

Basic Requirements for all candidates (must be met): 

1. Must live and be allowed to work without restrictions in the United
States (Canadian citizens and Canadian legal residents who have visas to
travel to the US are also invited to apply). 

2. Must be a native speaker of the language and be fully fluent in English
as well. Near native speakers may apply, but will be fully tested to
demonstrate proficiency. 

3. Must send a CV to: ilrworkshops at actfl.org. 

4. Must be able to travel, all expenses paid by the ACTFL, to White Plains,
NY to attend two training sessions. Each session lasts two to four days.
Sessions are held about a month apart. 

5. Language translation, interpreting, teaching and/or testing experience
is preferred. 

6. Must read additional project requirements and apply on-line by copying
