Sound of Indo-European 2:
Phonetics, Phonemics, and Morphophonemics

Institute of Czech Language and Library Science, Silesian University in Opava and  Department of Linguistics and Baltic Languages, Masaryk University in Brno, are proud to announce that The Sound of Indo-European 2 will take place in Opava, Czech Republic, from 16th-19th November 2010.  The conference follows in the line of the previous successful conference which has been held in Copenhagen. 

Meeting Description: 

Phonetic, phonemic, and morphophonemic questions relating to either the Indo-European protolanguage and its prestages or to a specific branch of the Indo-European family.

Gerhard Meiser (Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg, Germany)

Georges-Jean Pinault  (École Pratique des Hautes Études, France)

Conference Fee:

100 Euro, the participants will pay the fee in cash at the registration desk .

Call for Papers:

Abstracts are invited for 20-minute talks followed by 10 minutes of discussion. Abstracts must be at most two pages long. An optional third page is permitted for data and references. At the top of each page, please include the abstract title. Abstracts are anonymous, so the author's name must be absent from all pages.  

Abstracts should be sent as pdf attachments to an e-mail: 

soundofindoeuropean2 at gmail.com

In the body of your e-mail the following information should be included: name of the author(s), affiliation, email contact. Please name the .pdf file using a short title that resembles the full title as closely as possible. No other identifying information (such as author's name) should be included in the file name. Each abstract will be anonymously reviewed by three members of the advisory board (formed by the invited speakers and Vaclav Blazek, Masaryk University in Brno).
