Abstract:
The book describes the Second HAREM (a NER evaluation contest for
Portuguese, http://www.linguateca.pt/HAREM/ run by Linguateca in 2007-2008
with Paula Carvalho, Cláudia Freitas, Hugo Gonçalo Oliveira, Cristina Mota
and Diana Santos as organizers) with two additional tracks:
- a temporal expression recognition and normalization track, proposed by
Jorge Baptista, Caroline Hagège, and Nuno Mamede
- a relation detection track among named entities
The book is organized in two parts:
The first, with six chapters, is devoted to the description of the
challenges and of the organization setup:
