Meeting Description:

The Faculty of Languages and Linguistics at the University of Malaya is
pleased to announce the second University of Malaya Conference on Discourse
and Society (UMDS 2010). 

UMDS 2010 aims to bring together scholars from various disciplines to exchange
ideas as well as offer new and critical perspectives and directions in research
on discourse and society. The Keynote Speakers are Prof Ruth Wodak (University
of Lancaster) and Prof Theo Van Leuwen (University of Technology Sydney). Please

Call for Papers

Submissions are invited for abstracts for oral or poster presentations on any
topic related to discourse and society. Papers will be 20 minutes in duration
with an additional 10 minutes for discussion. Abstracts (a maximum of 300
words in either English or Bahasa Malaysia) must be sent to
umdsabstracts at gmail.com by 14 February 2010.

While we welcome papers from any topic in the field of discourse, we wish to
encourage debate from interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary perspectives.
