Description:

The Faculty of Linguistics and Literary Studies at the University of
Bielefeld will be appointing a Professor ('W2-Professur') for Applied
Computational Linguistics at the earliest possible opportunity.

The successful applicant will cover the full breadth of the field of
Applied Computational Linguistics. Especially welcome are specialisations in:
- dialog modeling
- text generation and text parsing
- language variation and language evolution
- computational semantics
- text technology 

The successful candidate must be prepared to cooperate in the consortial
research in which linguistics in Bielefeld is involved (Special Research
Group 273 'Alignment in Communication' and the Excellence Cluster
'Cognitive Interaction Technology'), and will be responsible for teaching
and student supervision in the BA programme 'Text Technology', as well as
the BA, MA and PhD programmes in computational linguistics.

The conditions for appointment are a completed course of university studies
and a first class doctorate in a relevant field, with additional scientific
achievements whose evaluation will be restricted to the current hiring
procedure (§36 HG legal requirement).
