A workshop on possessives, in particular as they relate to terms such as 'affix'
and 'clitic', organized as part of an AHRC-funded project on Germanic possessives. 

Morpho-syntactic Categories and the Expression of Possession

3-4 April 2009

The University of Manchester, Chancellors Conference Centre

A workshop forming part of the AHRC-funded project Germanic possessive -s: an
empirical, historical and theoretical study will take place at the University of
Manchester on 3-4 April 2009. The focus of the workshop will be the nature of
possessive expressions in Germanic and other languages. Issues that will be
considered include the interaction with morpho-syntactic categories such as
'affix' and 'clitic', the range of variation in the expressions of possession
and the factors which determine the choice of variant.

Registration:
Please send an email to alan.k.scott at manchester.ac.uk to confirm your
registration. The registration fee of £10 can be paid in advance by cheque
(payable to 'The University of Manchester', sent to the address below) or in
cash at the workshop. The fee includes tea and coffee on both days, and lunch on
Saturday 4 April.
