Meeting Description:

The Institute for International Education and Language Communication, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Russian Federation is holding the 7th International Conference Applied Philology: Ideas, Concepts and Approaches. This Conference should be an exciting and illuminating gathering of professionals dedicated to Foreign Language Teaching (FLT).

The aim of this conference is to bring together FLT practitioners from Russian Universities and European and Asian Universities for exchanging views on a wide range of issues in FLT practice and research. Through this exchange, it is hoped that participants will gain better insights into the world of FLT and the challenges it faces. The Institute for International Education and Language Communication with its foreign language practice and educational experience since 1999 is proud to create this Conference and share ideas about present and future trends in FLT. The participants of the conference are invited to discuss the following topics reflecting the theme of the conference:

-Quality FLT teaching and learning strategies.
-Research in Business English, Technical English and other ESP areas. 
-Practical studies into the teaching methodologies employed in FLT and Russian Language Teaching.
-FLT materials development and evaluation. 
-Intercultural communication. 
-Assessment of student performances in FLT settings.

We would appreciate it if you were able to take part in our conference. In this concern, we are glad to release you from the registration fee which covers participation in the conference, a pack of conference materials, the possibility of publishing one paper and attending conference reception. Besides, the Institute will provide accommodation for you during the conference days. 

The conference languages are Russian, German, English and French. 

Call for Papers:

The deadline for abstract submission (up to 10 lines) is 15 September, 2009. Please, note that processing of the invitation and visa takes more than a month. In this respect, please confirm your intention to take part in the forthcoming conference as soon as possible. 

Papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings book. You can find the official Call for Papers attached to this message, where you can see the Registration Form to be filled in and some other details of the conference.
