Call Deadline: 15-Dec-2009

Meeting Description:

The Organization Committee is pleased to announce the International Congress of the Young Linguists Association (XXV Encounter), which will be held on the 10th, 11th and 12th March 2010 at the University of Valladolid, Spain.

The aim of the Congress is to give the opportunity to all-level students of presenting their research and interchanging opinions with other students and lecturers. Thereby, we invite all young researches who work in different fields of Linguistics to participate in this congress.

Call for Papers:

We would like to remind you that only Ph.D. students and young researchers can present papers in this congress. Therefore, the authorship or co-authorship involving Ph.D. graduates will not be accepted.

The summaries should be sent electronically by the application form of the congress web (which will be available very soon). An anonymous copy should be attached too. Speakers can hand in their papers in the language they prefer. Nevertheless, it is necessary to include a translation into Spanish or English. It is also obligatory to hand in a document with five keywords in both languages. This means that everybody has to give in his/her paper in the language chosen to give the lecture and in Spanish or English. The summaries cannot exceed 250 words. The format should be the following:

-Margins of 2.5 cm all around
-Line spacing: single space
-Font size: Times New Roman 12 point
-SILDoulos IPA93 for phonetic symbols
-A maximum of five bibliographical references can be included

Each paper will last 30 minutes at the most (20-minutes presentation followed by a 10-minute discussion).

The papers could be included in one the following linguistic fields:

-Aplied linguistics
-Clinical linguistics

-Semantics
-Sociolinguistics
-Syntax

Deadline for receipt of all submissions: 15th of December of 2009. Once the summaries are evaluated and selected by the proper Scientific Committee, the results will be conveyed to each author respectively, payment instructions will be explained and the editing rules will be highlighted in the subsequent article, which will be handed in on the day of the lecture, not exceeding 10 pages.
