Due Due to numerous requests, the paper submission deadline has been extended to
March 16, 2009.  

The International Workshop on Intelligent Linguistic Technologies 2009
ILINTEC'09 will be held as part of the ICAI'09 Conference (International
Conference in Artificial Intelligence 2009). 

All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings by CSREA
Press (Computer Science Research, Education and Advanced Technologies Association). 

Why ILINTEC? 
The core idea of ILINTEC'09 is to bring together researchers who explore
different paradigms of language and speech processing; special emphasis is laid
on interaction of stochastic techniques and logical methods.  ILINTEC'09 is a
unique opportunity to discuss the problems of natural language processing in
immediate contact with the leading research and development teams from
universities and industry engaged in information technology projects and various
fields of Computer Science. 

The Scope of the Workshop: 
The workshop is centered around but not limited to the topics given below: 
machine translation; 
text retrieval; 
information extraction; 
applications of machine learning to speech and language processing; 
neural networks for speech and language structures recognition; 
algorithms of morphological and syntactic analysis of natural languages; 
word class and part-of speech tagging for text corpora; 
parsing with context-free grammars, unification grammars, etc.; 
lexicalized and probabilistic parsing; 
meaning representation, semantic analysis; 
word sense disambiguation and information retrieval; 
reference resolution; 
natural language generation

The draft papers (about 3-4 pages) are due by March, 5, 2009; and are to be sent

The length of the Camera-Ready papers (if accepted) will be limited to 7 (IEEE
style) pages. Papers must not have been previously published or currently
submitted for publication elsewhere. 

Evaluation Process: 
Papers will be evaluated for originality, significance, clarity, and soundness.
Each paper will be refereed by two researchers in the topical area. The
Camera-Ready papers will be reviewed by one person. 

Publication: 
The conference proceedings will be published by CSREA Press in hardcopy. The
proceedings will be available at the conference. Some accepted papers will also
be considered for journal publication (soon after the conference). All
conference materials published by CSREA Press are included in major database
indexes, such as: ISI Thomson Scientific, IEE INSPEC, DBLP, etc? that are
designed to provide easy access to the current literature.

El cuarto Congreso de Idiomas Indígenas de Latinoamérica se llevará a cabo el
29-31 de octubre del 2009 en la Universidad de Texas en Austin.  Se invitan

seleccionarán con base en una evaluación anónima del resumen/abstracto, el cual
no debe exceder 500 palabras.  Se prefieren resúmenes enviados electrónicamente.
No se acepta más que una ponencia. 

La fecha límite para recibir los resúmenes es el 1 de mayo de 2009.  Favor de

The fourth Conference on Indigenous Languages of Latin America will be held
October 29-31, 2009, at the University of Texas at Austin.  We invite the
submission of abstracts on research about any aspect of Latin American
indigenous languages. Already published papers will not be accepted. Topics may
include, but are not limited to:

Grammar					
Linguistic Anthropology
Sociolinguistics			
Language Planning
Language Politics			
Linguistic Theory
Historical Linguistics			
Language Vitality
Discourse				
Indigenous Literatures
Cooperation with the Community

Spanish is encouraged for presentations; English and Portuguese are also acceptable.

Speakers are allowed 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion.
Papers will be selected based on the evaluation of an anonymous abstract, which
may not exceed 500 words.  Electronic submissions are encouraged. We cannot
accept more than one paper per author. 

Submissions:  Deadline for receipt of abstracts is May 1, 2009.  Please send
your abstract to nengland at mail.utexas.edu, Subject: CILLA IV abstract.  Please
include in the following order (in your message, but not in the abstract):
1. Title of the paper
2. Author's name
3. Author's affiliation
4. Address, phone number, and e-mail address at which the author wishes to be
notified
5. Equipment needs for the presentation.
6. An abstract of 500 words maximum (please send as a Word attachment.

acceptance or rejection will be sent by May 31.

$20 students; $40 non-students; registration scholarships for speakers of
indigenous languages
