Call for Papers

1) Concurrent Sessions
The ALAK calls for oral presentations (20-minute presentation and 10-minute
discussion) in all areas of applied linguistics. We request that the title of
the presentation be submitted by April 20, 2009 and that the abstract (maximum
300 words)be sent by July 20, 2009. When submitting your presentation title,
please include the following information: name, affiliation, mailing address,
phone number, and e-mail address. Notification of acceptance will be announced
by August 31, 2009. Presenters will then be asked to submit a maximum 5-page 
manuscript with biodata for the conference proceedings by October 12, 2009.

2) Poster Session
We especially encourage the participation of graduate students in this session.
Please submit the title of poster presentation with your name, affiliation,
mailing address,phone number, and e-mail address by April 20, 2009. For title
submissions and further information, please contact the poster session
coordinator, Prof. Shinwoong Lee(shingwoonglee at hotmail.com).

3) CALL (Computer-Assisted Language Learning) Fair 
The CALL Fair will involve demonstrations by language educators using multimedia
software or ICT. Demonstrations may highlight student projects, lesson plans,
activities or instructional materials. The computer products (e.g. software or
websites) do NOT necessarily have to be created by the teacher/presenter. Examples:
- Web projects (case study, activities, lesson plans, assessment)
- e-Learning course development (Web CT, Moodle, Other LMS)
- CMC for language learning (blogs, chats, BBS, video conferencing, etc.)
- Material design by using authoring tools (Flash, Director, Namo Web Editor, 
Flying Popcorn, etc.)

Please submit the title of your proposal with your name, affiliation, mailing 
address,phone number, and e-mail address by April 20, 2009. For title 
submissions and further information, please e-mail the CALL Fair coordinator, 
Prof. Jungtae Kim (kim.jungtae at gmail.com).

*The official language of the conference is English and Korean.
