Meeting Description: 

The aim of this congress is to promote interdisciplinary research on the
biological, cognitive, emotional and sociocultural basis of media, regarding
their impact on individuals, societies and cultures. The congress is addressing
researchers from communication sciences and cognitive sciences especially
interested in the relationships between media, cognition and culture.

We particularly welcome papers that take into consideration one of the following
topics:

- cognitive and cultural models of socio/cultural identities and in social, 
political, economic and scientific debates, cognitive and cultural models as 
covert ideologies;
- cognitive systems, structures and rhetoric in verbal and multimodal discourses;
- conceptual metaphor and metonymy, and conceptual integration; 
- image schemas and mental imagery, attention phenomena, construal, perspective
and intersubjectivity; 
- the interaction between verbal text and image, interpretation of multimodal text; 
- the interaction between embodied and sociocultural aspects of communication;
- methodologies and techniques of critical analysis and production of the media
discourses.
