This is the second posting for this. The response last time was great
(thanks to everyone who took part!). I'm still about 80 participants short
of the number I need, so I'm giving it another try. Please see LINGUIST
issue 20.144 for the first posting:

I'm running a really short experiment as part of my Ph.D. research. I'm
hoping to get about 200 people to download the experiment and run it on
themselves and then email me their results. It's a simple experiment (it
tests effects on your short-term memory) and it takes about 8 minutes.

In the experiment, you'll be asked to read a list of sentences, then do
some easy addition and subtraction questions and then you'll be asked to
categorize the words that flash on the screen as "old" (occurred in the
list of sentences you read), or "new" (did not occur in the list of
sentences you read).

This is the website for the linguistics department of UBC.  There is no
tracking of visitors done, so participation is confidential.

(The software will only run on Windows computers, sorry, I couldn't create
a Mac version.)
