Meeting Description: 

The 19th International Symposium on Theoretical and Applied Linguistics
takes place in Thessaloniki and is organized by the Department of
Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, School of English, Aristotle University. 

The 19th International Symposium on Theoretical and Applied Linguistics
(19-ISTAL) will be held at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, April 3-5 2009.

The full program includes 149 talks within a variety of linguistic fields,
including four workshops on the topics 
'Mapping Asymmetries: Phonology, Syntax and Information Structure', 
'Typology of labile verbs: focus on diachrony', 
'Language learning strategies: current trends in Greek research',
and 'The optionality of wh-movement'
