Dear Subscribers,

In a couple of months, I will be finishing my ninth years with LINGUIST
and stepping into my tenth year here: you know you have been around for
a long while if you can remember working with team members who are just
editor names on older LINGUIST issues to other people in the office.
This also means that you have heard from me more often than most editors
on crew! I have enjoyed writing to you about my yearly progress right
from my master's degree completion (thanks to your donation) to my career
as a project manager. I did begin work on LINGUIST as a programmer which
was a challenging task given the intricacies in language data and the
need to be a useful site to our users. But, over the years, LINGUIST
has been involved in quite a few projects thus giving need for a project
manager role in the organization which I have been trying my best to fill!
I have been involved in various projects in different capacities which
have helped me acquire multiple project management traits; the opportunity
to grow and learn new things constantly is quite motivating and is an
attractive aspect of LINGUIST for me. From the letters you have been
receiving from our editors, you may be aware that we are a diverse work
force with crew members from all over the world; we find this diversity
is often comforting for all of us!

Our fund drive letters have two themes: one, you get to know each one of
us a little more each year; two, we bring our projects into focus, that
is, what has your donation done for you in the last year? Please do spare
a moment to peruse our team letters, and to visit our projects/site
features we have added to make our website more useful to you. We could
not have added these projects to our portfolio without our hardworking
crew, but we would not have such a smart crew if it weren't for your
donations! Did you know LINGUIST has employed over 100+ student editors
and programmers since inception! Not only is this a matter of pride for
us to have provided deserving and intelligent individuals with real-world
work experience; but this is a matter of satisfaction for you, our donors;
you have, with your kind donations, given graduate students the opportunity
to finish their studies and to work on technologically advanced research
work on a day-to-day basis. We rely on you for our existence, please donate:
 http://linguistlist.org/donation/

Thank you very much for your donation, your encouraging letters, and
most of all your heart-felt praise for our efforts here.

With best regards and gratitude,

Gayathri Sriram

There are many ways to donate to LINGUIST!

You can donate right now using our secure credit card form at
https://linguistlist.org/donation/donate/donate1.cfm

Alternatively you can also pledge right now and pay later. To do so, go to:
https://linguistlist.org/donation/pledge/pledge1.cfm

For all information on donating and pledging, including information on how to
donate by check, money order, or wire transfer, please visit:
http://linguistlist.org/donate.html

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Eastern Michigan University and as such
can receive donations through the EMU Foundation, which is a registered 501(c) Non
Profit organization. Our Federal Tax number is 38-6005986. These donations can be
offset against your federal and sometimes your state tax return (U.S. tax payers
only). For more information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact your financial advisor.

Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that they will match any
gift you make to a non-profit organization. Normally this entails your contacting
your human resources department and sending us a form that the EMU Foundation fills
in and returns to your employer. This is generally a simple administrative procedure
that doubles the value of your gift to LINGUIST, without costing you an extra penny.
Please take a moment to check if your company operates such a program.

Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
