Description:

The Department of Linguistics at Stanford University announces a search for
a 2/3-time Lecturer in sociolinguistics for the academic year 2009-10. 
This is a one-year position, with a salary of $40,000. The primary duty is
teaching four courses, including an undergraduate course on Language and
Gender. Topics of the other courses will be worked out in consultation with
the regular faculty.  

Application materials should be sent in PDF format to the email address
provided below. They should include a cover letter, a CV, and teaching
evaluations, if available. Two letters of recommendation, also in PDF
format, should be sent by the recommenders to the same email address.  

Applicants' cover letters should indicate:  
(i) what other courses they would be interested in teaching; and 
(ii) whether they would prefer a 2/3 appointment spread over the three
quarters of the academic year, or a full-time appointment for two quarters.

Deadline for the receipt of applications is June 22, 2009.
