Description:

At the Department of Language, Literature and Culture, Section of English,
a position as assistant professor in Second/Foreign Language Pedagogy and
Acquisition is tenable from August 1 2010.

The post as assistant professor is a limited-term, three-year appointment,
with the possibility of subsequent promotion to the tenured position of
associate professor, and it is well-suited for a recently qualified PhD.

Applicants are expected to have:
-	A PhD or its equivalent within the area of specialization;
-	potential for the development of research projects;
-	native or near-native command of English;
-	teaching experience at university level.

The successful applicant is expected to teach courses in the area of
specialization to undergraduate and graduate students at the Section of
English. Other duties of the post will include teaching courses in the area
of specialization to students from other language sections and in programs
of continuing education. All other things being equal, familiarity with the
teaching of English in the Danish educational system will be considered an
advantage.

Applicants without any knowledge of Danish would be expected, if appointed,
to acquire within two years a sufficient level of proficiency in the
language to be able to participate in all the activities of the Department.
It is expected that the person appointed will be present at the Department
on a normal daily basis.
