We are happy to announce that the Sixth International Symposium on the Acquisition of Second Language Speech New Sounds 2010 will take place on 1-3 May 2010 in Pozna?, Poland. The Symposium will be organised by the School of English, Adam Mickiewicz University, Pozna?. 

Invited plenary speakers are: 

James Flege (University of Alabama at Birmingham, Professor Emeritus)
Allan James (University of Klagenfurt)
Martha Young-Scholten (Newcastle University)

Registration:

Conference fee:

Early registration (before 15 March 2010): Regular fee: 180 Euro 
Student fee: 80  Euro
Late registration (after 15 March 2010): Regular fee: 200 Euro
Student fee: 100  Euro
				
The conference fee will cover:

-Conference package with CD proceedings, 
-Coffee/tea and snacks during conference breaks,
-Three conference lunches,
-Conference reception (1st May 2010),
-Conference banquet (2nd May 2010),
-Organised sight-seeing tour of Pozna?.


The Venue:

The conference will be held in the newly renovated Collegium Maius of Adam Mickiewicz University (http://amu.edu.pl/), which is located in the centre of Pozna?. Pozna? is a city in west-central Poland with over 600 000 inhabitants. Pozna? is Poland's fifth largest city and fourth biggest industrial centre. Located on the Warta river, it is one of the oldest historical cities in Poland and a vibrant centre of trade, industry, and education. Pozna?'s cathedral is the oldest in the country, containing the tombs of the first Polish rulers. Pozna? was the host city for the UN Climate Change Conference that took place in December 2008. It boasts the title of the ''city of know-how''. Academic Pozna? hosts over 150 thousand students at its institutions of higher education, 55 thousand at Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU). AMU is one of the three largest, oldest and most prestigious universities in Poland.
