Description:

The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science at the Hankuk
University of Foreign Studies (Yongin Campus) has an immediate requirement
for a non-tenure track international faculty specializing in Natural
Language Processing. Programming skills in at least one of the following
languages is a strong plus: C, C++, Java, Prolog or Python.
The appointment begins on March 1, 2010. This position is reserved for an
international faculty, hence candidates should have a non-Korean
citizenship. They are required to hold a PhD in linguistics at the time of
application. The candidates are expected to have sufficient proficiency in
the English language to lecture in English. The selected candidate will
teach three linguistics courses (i.e. eight credit hours) related to
his/her specialization (including a graduate-level seminar course).

The salary is based on the university's appointment scale determined by the
candidate's research and teaching experience. For example, the expected
income level for assistant professor will be around 40,000,000 KRW per year
plus housing supported by the university. Additional financial incentives
are available depending on the candidate's academic performance. The
university also provides one-way airplane tickets to Seoul, Korea for the
faculty member and his/her spouse at the commencement of his/her employment.

Successful candidates will sign a contract for one year, which is renewable
on a yearly basis.

2.  Copy of PhD dissertation
3.  Copies of recent academic works
4.  Official transcripts of BA, MA, and PhD
5.  Official documents certifying work experience
6.  Copy of the passport information page
7.  Copy of the alien registration card (if the applicant has been staying
in Korea)
