Meeting Description:

The Colloquium on Generative Grammar is a conference organized every year since
1991 in a different university of the Iberian Peninsula where linguists from all
over the world present and discuss current proposals on the study of the
language faculty within the Generative Grammar framework. It hosts formal
analyses in all subdomains of grammar and their interfaces.

The 20th edition will be hosted by GLiF (Grup de Lingüística Formal-URLING) at
the Department of Translation and Language Sciences of the Pompeu Fabra
University in Barcelona. 

Call for Papers

Reminder: Deadline for abstract submission CGG20: October 31st, 2009!

The conference will consist of a two-day main session (free topic) and a one-day
thematic session on the interface between prosody and information structure and
the issues that it raises for the organization of grammar, both in spoken or
signed modalities. Two poster sessions will be organized during the conference.
In order to celebrate its 20th edition, the conference will also feature a panel
session on the state of the field at the local and international levels 20 years
later.

João Costa (Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal)

Thematic Session on Prosody and Information Structure:
Onno Crasborn (Radboud Universiteit, Nijmegen, The Netherlands)
Caroline Féry (Universität Potsdam, Germany)

Please note that this year's conference will be preceded by a Workshop on
Subatomic Semantics for Event Predicates (March 17, 2010), held at Universitat

Linguists working in any theoretical framework of Generative Grammar are invited
to participate. Each presentation will be allotted 30 minutes plus 10 minutes
for discussion. A limited number of abstracts will also be accepted for two
poster sessions. 

If the authors want to submit their proposals only as either full paper
presentations or posters, this should be indicated in the submission page. 
Please indicate as well whether the submission is meant for the main or the
thematic session. 

Submission of Abstracts: 
Authors are asked to submit their abstracts in an anonymous PDF file to the
following site:

If you do not have an EasyChair account, please follow the instructions provided
and create one. 

Abstracts should be no longer than two pages in length (including examples and
references), in Times New Roman 12-point lettertype, single line spacing and 2,5
cm. margins. Submissions are limited to a maximum of one individual and one
joint abstract per author. 

The official language of the conference will be English. 

Deadline for abstract submission: October 31st, 2009. 
Notification of acceptance by January 1st, 2010.
