The English Department at Prince Sultan University, College for Women in Riyadh 
is organizing 'The First Workshop on Applied Linguistics & Computational
Linguistics: Linking Theory to Practice' on 9-10 December 2009. 

Call for Papers

Please note that this workshop is open only to KSA participants as it is too
short a notice to process visas.

The aim of this workshop is to bring together applied and computational
linguists from the region onto a common platform in order to discuss the current
developments in both disciplines.

Suggested areas include: 
- Computational Linguistics			
- Computer Assisted Language Learning
- Corpus Linguistics	
- Natural Language Processing			
- Pragmatics & Cross-cultural Studies
- Discourse Analysis				
- Language Acquisition
- Psycholinguistics				
- Sociolinguistics
- Interdisciplinary Studies  

Submission Guidelines:
A 250-word abstract and a 50-word biography should be submitted to

October 2009.
