Abstract:

Het Nederlandse prefix ge- in historisch perspectief biedt allereerst een
algemeen overzicht van de ontwikkeling van de woordvormingspatronen met ge-
en schenkt daarbij speciale aandacht aan het participiale ge-. De kern van
het boek bestaat uit een uitvoerige analyse van de
ge-+werkwoordstam-afleidingen van het type geblaf. De diachronie van deze
in het hedendaags Nederlands zeer productieve ge-afleidingen werd tot op
heden nauwelijks onderzocht. Het onderzoek richt zich op de ontwikkeling
van dit type ge-afleiding in de periode tussen 1200 en 1900. Daarbij wordt
gebruik gemaakt van drie verschillende bronnen: contemporaine grammatica's,
woordenboeken en een voor dit doel samengesteld digitaal tekstcorpus. Die
gevarieerde benadering levert een duidelijk beeld van de ontwikkeling van
deze ge-afleiding in de geschiedenis van het Nederlands en van de factoren
die daarin een belangrijke rol hebben gespeeld.

historische taalkunde of de geschiedenis van het Nederlands.
