Meeting Description:

The IC[CM] 2010 aims at contributing to relate the creative world of composers
with the scientific world of researchers working on music and language. 

Call for Papers

The IC[CM] 2010 welcomes scientific and creative contributions from composers,
linguists, and musicologists addressing the relation between natural language
and the language of music. It will the articulated around two topics: (a) The
simple and the complex. (b) The relation between natural language and music (the
relation between Natural Language and Opera; the musical origin of Natural
Language; Ethnomusicology; the use of phonemes as simple musical material in
composition; tonal languages and melody; rhythm in natural language and in
music; gesture in natural language and in music.)

Modalities of Submission
There are two modalities of participation: Compositions (of a duration no longer
that 15 min.) and presentations of research papers (20' for presentation plus
10' for discussion; abstracts of at most 2 pages long).

Important Dates
Deadline for submissions: October 25, 2009
Notification of acceptance: November 27
Final version due: December 7
