Meeting Description: 

SyntaxFest 2010 is a 4-day workshop of the Indiana University Linguistics
Department on issues related to syntactic theory construction, featuring
mini-courses by some of the foremost researchers working within the Minimalist
Program. It will take place from 15-18 June 2010 in Bloomington, Indiana.
Students and faculty working in Syntax will not want to miss this opportunity to
discuss the latest developments in Minimalism with the architects of the
program! Registration is available online, or by postal correspondence with the
Indiana University Linguistics Department. Those wishing to attend are
encouraged to register before April 10 to take advantage of reduced rates. 

Courses begin at 9:30 with a series of lectures by Norbert Hornstein (University
of Maryland) titled ''Outlines of a Minimalist Syntax.''  These are followed at
11 by Howard Lasnik (University of Maryland) speaking on ''EPP, Repair by
Elipsis and the Organization of the Grammar.''  In the afternoon, ?eljko
Bo?kovi? (University of Connecticut) speaks on ''Issues in Locality, Agreement
and the Structure of the NP'' at 1:45, Norvin Richards (MIT) on ''Prosody and
Syntax'' at 3:15, and Jason Merchant (University of Chicago) on ''Linguistic
Interfaces and the Architecture of the Grammar'' at 4:45.
