Description:

The Collaborative Research Center 'Constitution of Meaning' at the
University of Tuebingen, Germany, has an opening for a research position
(50% of full-time appointment, Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L/2) in Computational
Linguistics.

The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience in one or more
of the following areas:
-  lexical acquisition / computational lexicography
-  discourse structure / discourse relations

Some programming experience (in Python, Java, Perl or C++) and (near)
native-level command of German, as well good communication skills in
English are required.

Experience in one of the following areas is considered a plus:
-  use of supervised machine learning in NLP (e.g. coreference, SRL, WSD or
similar applications)
-  unsupervised learning / clustering (e.g., SVD, LDA, k-means)

The Seminar für Sprachwissenschaft (SfS) and the Collaborative Research
Center (SFB 833) offer a stimulating interdisciplinary research environment
with the opportunity of completing a Ph.D. degree.

The initial period of appointment for this position is until June 30, 2013.
Subject to renewal of the project, the appointment can be extended to a
period of maximally five years.
