Meeting Description: 

During the summer of 2011, there will be a two week summer school that 
focuses on the study of African languages and linguistic theory. Like the first 
African Linguistics School held in Accra in 2009, this school aims at offering 
African students the possibility of becoming familiar with new advances in 
linguistic description and theory.  The school will be held in Ouidah, Bénin, 
and will center around the following linguistic domains: Syntax, Phonology, 
Semantics, Languages in Contact, Field Methods, and Sign Language.
	
Eligibility:	
This program is open to all students interested in linguistics, including 
syntax, phonology, morphology, semantics and languages in contact.
 
Registration: 
All students will need to register. Please go to the school webpage for 
further information, http://als.rutgers.edu/
	
Costs:	
The school is free. There is no tuition or fees charged. Food and lodging 
will be covered by the school. Students traveling within Africa will be eligible 
for a limited number of travel grants.
