We are pleased to announce our 34th Colloquium. This year's theme is '21st
Century Approaches to Language, Literature, and Film'.

Call for Papers

Submissions are invited on recent approaches to the study of language,
literature and film. 

Topics include, but are not limited to the following:

Current issues in literature and film
The old and the new in literature and film
The 21st century perspective through literature and film
21st century classics
The role of new technologies in disseminating literature and film 
Literature and film in the age of the Kindle and Hulu
The role of new technologies in academic research in the fields of language,
literature and film
New approaches to classic texts and films
New applications of old theories
New theories applied to old texts and movies
Recent trends in linguistics
Current approaches to language variation and change
Theoretical approaches to the study of language
New trends in second language acquisition, education, and pedagogy
Issues in discourse analysis, language policy, and bilingualism

You may submit 300-word proposals for papers and/or panels by May 1, 2010 to
wvucoll at mail.wvu.edu

Please include a cover letter containing the proposal's title, complete contact
information, and institutional affiliation. The program will allow twenty
minutes for the presentation of each paper.  Papers may be read in English,
French, German, or Spanish.
