The LINGUIST List strongly encourages employers to use
non-discriminatory standards in hiring policy. In particular we urge
that employers do not discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnicity,
nationality, age, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. However, we
have no means of enforcing these standards.

Job seekers should pay special attention to language in ads regarding
employment requirements and are encouraged to consult our international
employment page http://linguistlist.org/jobs/jobnet.html. This page has been set
up so that people can report on the employment standards of various countries.

is a joint initiative of the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics and
two research institutes based at the Radboud University Nijmegen, the
Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour and the Centre for

The research school offers an unrivalled training and research environment
in the language sciences, allowing interdisciplinary work of the highest
standard.

The IMPRS for Language Sciences is now advertising three doctoral student

Applications must consist of:

- Curriculum vitae.

- A statement of interest (no more than 250 words) briefly detailing

special interest in the IMPRS for Language Sciences. Candidates should also
indicate which of the partner institutes and associated groups/projects
they believe is the best fit for their research interests.

- Names and email contact details of two referees.

- Proof of English-language proficiency if not a native English speaker
(see http://www.ru.nl/students/masters_student/admission/language for

Please do not submit more than the requested information. Short-listed
applicants will take part in an interview process, to be held in March 2010.

Applications must be received by 5 February 2010.
