Meeting Description:

The 17th International Congress of Phonetic Sciences (ICPhS XVII) will take 
place in Hong Kong, China, August 17-21, 2011. ICPhS XVII is jointly 
organized by the City University of Hong Kong, the Chinese Academy of 
Social Sciences, Beijing, and the Academia Sinica, Taipei, under the 
auspices of the Permanent Council for the Organization of the International 
Congresses of Phonetic Sciences and the International Phonetic 
Association. This will be the first time for ICPhS to be organized in Asia 
since ICPhS I in Amsterdam 1932. The organizers of ICPhS XVII invite you to 
take part in this world event in Hong Kong 2011. 

Call for Papers:

Authors are invited to submit papers on original, unpublished research in all 
areas of phonetics. All submissions should be 4-page papers in PDF file 
(the template is available at the congress website).   

Important dates: 
- Deadline for paper submission: March 1, 2011
- Notification of acceptance: May 1, 2011
- Deadline for revised paper submission: May 15, 2011
(Opening of online paper submission: September 1, 2010)


Call for Special Session Proposals:

Proposals should include name of the special session, a description of goals 
in not more than four pages, and name(s) and affiliation(s) of the 
organizer(s). Topics of the proposed special sessions may be in all areas of 
phonetics. All proposals for special sessions should be sent as attachments 
(in PDF file) by e-mail to icphs2011 at cityu.edu.hk with 'ICPhS XVII Special 
Session' in the subject header.

Important dates: 
- Deadline for submission of proposal: February 1, 2011
- Notification of acceptance: March 1, 2011
