We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at
http://linguistlist.org/LL/posttolinguist.cfm.

Dear LINGUIST readers,

My students and I are currently carrying out a project in the use of
English as a lingua franca. The project consists of three parts: a
semantic differential and two meta-pragmatic judgment tasks. We'd be
very grateful if you could forward the following text to your students.

Thank you very much in advance,
Joachim Grzega (and students)

Text to be forwarded:

We need your assistance for a project on intercultural communication.
As the chair of English Linguistics, Joachim Grzega coordinates one of
Germany's few venues for Eurolinguistic research. Currently, Joachim
Grzega and his students are carrying out three related projects. These
three projects are based on questionnaires. We would highly
appreciate any sort of help that we can get. Anybody who is willing to
serve as an informant is welcome. Filling out all three questionnaires
should take about 20 min. The URL to the questionnaires is:

Thank you very much for your effort.
