Description:

Applications are invited for two full-time posts in the School of
Linguistics and English Language. The successful candidates will join a
dynamic, supportive, and friendly School with a strategy of building on its
strength in the areas of bilingualism/ multilingualism and cognitive
linguistics, and its emphasis on empirical research methodologies.
Applicants will have a sustained or emerging track record in academic
publishing and research activity supported by a PhD in a relevant field,
and will be expected to contribute to the growth of a strong research
culture in the School. There will be opportunities to engage with
initiatives linked to the ESRC Centre for Research on Bilingualism in
Theory and Practice, join existing interdisciplinary research groups and
use their new-state-of-the-art research lab and equipment.

We are particularly interested in appointing candidates with a track record
in the area of Phonetics/Phonology, Sociolinguistics and/or Anthropological
linguistics. An interest in variation and/or interfaces (within and/or
beyond the discipline of linguistics) would be an advantage. Knowledge of
Welsh is desirable.
