Meeting Description:

Etymological Department of the Institute of the Czech Language of the 
Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic holds an international scientific 
conference Etymological Symposium Brno 2011: Theory and Empiricism in 
Slavonic Diachronic Linguistics, Brno, 6 - 8 September 2011. 

Contributions are expected to focus on theoretical aspects of the diachronic 
linguistic research illustrated especially on the data from Slavonic languages, or 
on empirical problems of diachronic Slavonic linguistics leading to general 
theoretical conclusions. Please send in an abstract (1,500 characters at most) 
of your contribution in Czech, English, French, German or Russian by 30 
September 2010 to the above- mentioned e-mail address. The language of the 
contribution is the choice of the author.

Your abstract will be anonymously reviewed by two independent reviewers. You 
will be notified by 31 October 2010 whether your contribution has been accepted 
for the conference. Written versions of the contributions, provided they are 
accepted during another review process, will be published in the series Studia 
etymologica Brunensia. The language of the contribution -  accompanied by an 
abstract in English and by a summary in a Slavonic language - will be English, 
French, German or Russian.
