Meeting Description:

Going Romance is the European conference series that focuses on Romance languages from the perspective of current linguistic theorizing. In the two decades of its existence, it has developed into the major European discussion forum for theoretically relevant research on Romance languages where current ideas about language in general and about Romance languages in particular are discussed.

Going Romance has a steering committee, in which all Dutch universities that are involved in research on Romance languages are represented. It is organised every year, in the first half of December.

Going Romance is the European conference series that focuses on Romance 
languages from the perspective of current linguistic theorizing. In more than 
two decades of its existence, it has developed into the major European 
discussion forum for theoretically relevant research on Romance languages where 
current ideas about language in general and about Romance languages in 
particular are discussed.

Going Romance 24 will take place in Leiden (Netherlands) on December 9-10 2010 
and will be followed by the Going Romance Workshop 'Non-Romance features in 
Romance languages' on December 11 2010.

Call for Papers

Papers on all areas of Romance linguistics are welcome. Abstracts are invited 
for 30-minute talks (plus 10 minutes for discussion). 

Abstracts should be anonymous and no longer than two pages, including references 
and examples, with margins of at least 1-inch, font size 12, single spaced. 
Submissions are limited to a maximum of one individual and one joint abstract 
per author and should be submitted to: goingromance2010 at gmail.com.

Authors are asked to submit their abstracts as PDF e-mail attachments. The 
abstract should include the title, but not the author's name(s). The title of 
the paper, name of the author(s), affiliation(s), address, phone number, and e-
mail address should be included in the e-mail message.

Please indicate whether you submit your paper for the general sessions or for 
the workshop. All authors who present their work at the conference will be 
invited to submit their paper for the peer reviewed volume in the Romance 
Languages and Linguistic Theory series, published by John Benjamins.
