Description:

The World Languages Department at the University of South Florida invites
applicants for a full time Instructor of Arabic to begin August 7, 2010.
The position is a full time, 9 month, non-tenure track, with potential
additional responsibilities for service related to lower division
instruction. USF offers a first class benefits package that includes

program, generous leave programs and much more. Salary for this position is
36,000 annually. 

Responsibilities: 
We seek a candidate who is able to teach Modern Standard Arabic courses at
all levels, supervise Teaching Assistants (TA), and is willing to
participate in a full range of Arabic program activities
	
Qualifications:
Minimum: M.A. in Arabic pedagogy, second language acquisition, linguistics,
or related field. The successful candidate will have experience teaching
Arabic at the university level, demonstrated excellence in classroom
teaching and will also be a native or near native speaker of Arabic with
excellent command of English. Demonstrated interest and commitment to
undergraduate education in an interdisciplinary environment. Excellent
written and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred: 
Ability to develop a curriculum in Arabic leading to a minor and possibly a
major in the language.
