Meeting Description:

The 1st International XLIFF Symposium will take place in Limerick on 22nd
September 2010. This event will be the main pre-conference activity for the 
15th Annual Internationalisation and Localisation Conference organised by 
the LRC.

The purpose of this symposium is to bring together specialists, tools 
providers, developers, TC members and researchers to discuss and share 
their experience with XLIFF (XML Localisation Interchange File Format). 
New trends will be presented, implementation cases will be demonstrated, 
and the future of XLIFF and its new version 2.0 will be discussed. 

Call for Papers

We are now inviting proposals for papers covering, but not limited to, the
following or similar topics:

1. The Present state and future of XLIFF
2. Implementation of XLIFF in commercial tools
3. Relation with other standards (OAXAL, TMX, ITS, MLIF...) 
4. Case studies
5. XLIFF from the user's point of view
6. XLIFF in Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) projects
7. XLIFF 2.0
8. Support for the translation process through XLIFF
9. Integration of terminology and translation memories into XLIFF
10. XLIFF beyond description - representing action in digital products

Abstracts should be approximately 300 words long and should be sent not 
later than 15 May 2010. Please should include contact details for authors 
and a short, one paragraph, biographical note.

A panel of experts will review the proposals and authors will be notified by 
15 June 2010.
