CALL FOR PAPERS FOR THE FIRST SPECIAL ISSUE OF 
NOVITAS-ROYAL (APRIL 2011, VOLUME 5 - ISSUE 1):
CONVERSATION ANALYSIS IN EDUCATIONAL AND APPLIED LINGUISTICS

Novitas-ROYAL is an open access, international, and fully refereed journal
devoted to research and critical discussion on all aspects of language,
linguistics and learning/teaching of languages. Having published scholarly
work from a wide array of research contexts including Australia, Europe,
Eurasia, and the Middle East since 2007, Novitas-ROYAL has been indexed in
prestigious abstracting and indexing agencies including MLA International
Bibliography, CSA Linguistics and Language Behaviour Abstracts, Linguistics
Abstracts (Wiley-Blackwell), EBSCO and TUBITAK-ULAKBIM.  The journal plans
to publish a special issue on Conversation Analytic Research in Educational
and Applied Linguistics in April 2011. The aim is to contribute to the
acknowledgement of the recent contributions of Conversation Analysis to the
areas like Applied Linguistics, SLA, and Language Teacher Education and to
publish innovative and theoretically sound articles to create an awareness
of the ways Conversation Analysis can change research directions in various
contexts. Articles should either a) contain an analysis of spoken data or
b) present an application of CA to an area of Applied Linguistics or c)
review the contribution of CA to an area of Applied Linguistics.

Possible topics include, but are not limited to:  

Teaching and Learning of Second/Foreign/Additional Languages
Second Language Acquisition (CA-for-SLA)
Language Teacher Education
Curriculum Design
Materials Design and Development
Classroom Discourse
English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) Discourse
Co-construction of Identities
Intercultural Communication
Language for Specific Purposes (LSP)
Code-switching in Conversation
Multimodal interaction
 

Manuscripts will be subject to anonymous review by a panel of experts. The
papers and biographical details should be sent via email attachment to:
