The International Association for Researching and Applying Metaphor (RaAM)
is pleased to announce that it has set up a new e-mail list, Metaphor-L. It
is intended for discussion of research on metaphor, metonymy, and other
aspects of figurative thought and expression, particularly as applied to
'real world' issues across different fields.

The list is open in terms of:
- theoretical approach in research,
- means of expression of metaphor/metonymy being studied (language as
written, spoken, or signed, but also other forms of representation in sound
and/or image, such as pictures, film, dance, music, or designed artefacts),
and
- domain of application (e.g., artistic, commercial, humanities, medical,
legal, literary, organizational, pedagogic, or political domains, or
related to the social, natural, or physical sciences).

If this is of interest to you, we encourage you to visit the subscription
page at http://raam.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/metaphor-l_raam.org.uk

Sincerely,

Alan Cienki
