Meeting Description: 

We are pleased to announce an international symposium on information and 
meta-informative centering in natural languages to be held at Paris-Sorbonne 
University on Nov. 18-19, 2010. The Meta-Informative Centering Theory (MIC) 
is currently developed at CELTA (Centre de Linguistique Theorique et 
Appliquee).

The symposium is intended to focus on preference and efficiency in 
discourse, and to continue discussion on crucial issues of the MIC theory in 
connection with research on pragmatics including the Socio-Cognitive 
Approach (SCA) to pragmatics developed at the State University of New York
