Description:

Diplomatic Language Services (DLS) is a 25-year old company based in the
Washington, DC metro area that provides language and cultural training and
other related language services to US government and commercial clients. 
We are currently recruiting a Project Coordinator for a large upcoming
curriculum development project. The project involves developing digital
language-learning resources that include activities, authentic texts, and
audio/visual components for the Pashto language. 

Qualifications: 
-BA degree, preferably in English, Language Education, Linguistics or a
related field 
-At least three years of experience with language training, editing, or
curriculum development projects, preferably in a supervisory role 
-Knowledge of the Inter-Agency Language Roundtable (ILR) scale 
-Familiarity with audio and video editing software and high level computer
skills 
-Very strong multitasking and interpersonal skills 
-Proven track record of meeting project deadlines under clear time
constraints. 

Responsibilities include: 
-Assist in initial training of Curriculum Developers and provide ongoing
training as needed to enhance developers'. performance 
-Perform English editing of Curriculum Developers' translations and
transcriptions 
-Work with developers to perfect translations to ensure accuracy 
-Ensure accuracy of lesson metadata and information resources included
(lesson categorization, keywords, glossaries, and bibliographic information) 
-Alert the client to technical glitches in software and make
recommendations for future improvements 
-Ensure that the choice of lesson activities is pedagogically balanced
between vocabulary mastery and language production 
-Ensure that foreign scripts display properly in final product 
-Track deadlines within language groups, reporting to Project Manager 
-Identify performance issues with any particular developer and report to
Project Manager
